EKKSTACY has dropped a fantastic new track in the form of ‘goo lagoon’. This emotive new cut marks a new sonic direction for the groundbreaking artist, as he delves into personal experiences that have shaped his songwriting over the last two years. “I never travel with my instruments but for some reason I happened to have my guitar in LA that day,” he says. “This is my favorite song on the album. I started surfing recently and this song is cool to listen to before I go to the beach.” It touches on the variety of influences he is known for, with a jangly post-rock sound being tinged by playful surf rock and atmospheric shoegaze. ‘goo lagoon' is released alongside the fantastic ‘shutting me out’. Both tracks are a teaser for what to expect on his forthcoming self-titled album, which drops on January 19th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
